Art & Craft
Art gives expression to our aesthetic abilities. Today, it is important for students to be imaginative, creative and think out-of-the box. To develop these artistic skill, St. Nicholas Public School offers a number of different art activities as per their level. These include:
Printing: jute, leaf, vegetable, spray and blow print
Painting: glass painting, oil painting, marble painting, nib painting, knife painting, thumb painting and finger painting
Craft activities like clay modelling, soft toys, pottery, tie-dye, batik, metallic imprinting, face masks, etc
Music
Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything. The music room offers sheer splendour, where the melodious voices and chords are created and practised. Reverberating sounds of instruments, enthusiastic participants are the distinguished features of Music department. In the music period the children enhance their singing capabilities. They are motivated to learn Indian Classical music. Our music room has been equipped with various musical instruments such as drums, harmonium, synthesizer, congo, dholak, guitar etc. With the aim of creating young musicians of extra ordinary talent, the music department strives to extract the hidden talent of the students.
Dance
Dance works to improve confidence, co-ordination, balance, posture, fitness, stamina, strength and motor skills as well as helping with social skills and music appreciation. Children of our school are trained in Folk, Light Classical, Classical dances, Fusion dance, Aerobics and Dance drama during their dance periods. Our teacher ensures that the children participate in various competitions in and out of school. Our teacher trains the students to form a dance group and provides extra training after school hours. It is our vision to see a world where dance is a part of everyone’s life, regardless of age, ability or disability. We promote a healthy and active lifestyle through the medium of dance.
Sports
The school provides many opportunities for students to take part in team games or develop solo skills. Students of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part in sporting activities, to learn about team work, fitness and value of sports in life. We provide our students ample of sporting facilities and opportunities in both outdoor and indoor arena.
Computers
In the age of IT and Artificial Intelligence, Computer has become a necessity. To cater this need, the school has well-furnished, fully air-conditioned and user friendly computer lab for classes I to X. The laboratory is fully equipped with networked PCs under LAN with Internet Connection. Students enjoy interactive learning process as well as demonstration of educational CD’s through PCs and LCD projector in the lab.
